Ningxia Yinchuan 101 Culture Industrial Park

Inspired by the city of Yinchuan along the yellow river in North-West China. We took its unique geography characterized by hundreds of wet lands and lakes and turn it into a concept to create this mix use project.

In which this new landscape reminds us the local conditions and the city name itself...The Silver River, taking the Chinese character that represent ‘river’ to generate the new bridge system and main axis of the project.

This elevated bridge create a new circulation flow and connect all the originally separated blocks. Also add a new geometry that helps to softening the original hard concrete structure and enrich the neighborhood with new functions and avant-guard  design.

Facing the main road a hotel welcome the visitors to the site through the east gate. The north gate as the main vehicle and pedestrian entrance has the city scale and is aligned with the central axis and between the apartment and business apartment buildings. In the opposite side the second south gate has the community scale and connect the business area with the south apartment building. The whole site is surrounded by apartment towers so the roof design has a direct impact to the city scape.

On top of the roof a sky bar allows social events, celebrities and fashion models shows with the 360o view of the city. The dry gardens fits the north west China weather and connect with the local culture giving both the scale of global and international feeling with the unique and historical values of Ningxia. We used local materials to create gardens made by textures and colors of different stones and sands making it easier for maintenance. The result is a dynamic industrial park open to the community in this new district of the city.
